Where Should a Heat Pump be Located

Despite the fact that the heat pump is a relatively new device for heating houses, it has already proven itself as an effective way to control the temperature of the house. But since this is a new device, sometimes there are difficulties with its location.

Its most frequent location is outside your home, on one of the exterior walls near the ground. But it is worth considering several factors and the structure of the equipment.

Location of the heat pump

The heat pumps system consists of two components, so it is installed both inside the house and outside. The main installation is considered to be the component that is located outside.

The internal component can be placed in several places: on the wall, floor or ceiling. The outdoor component is located next to the ground on one of the exterior walls so that it can be approached. In case of a breakdown, the outdoor unit is first examined, and then the internal one.

When installing these components, it is worth considering that they should not be more than 50 feet apart from each other, otherwise connection problems may occur. They are connected to each other by a refrigerant pipeline.

Most often, the indoor unit is installed on the wall. The outdoor installation option is not popular, as it is less convenient. The ceiling option is best used in narrow rooms, for example, in the corridor.

When installing an outdoor component, it is necessary to take into account not only accessibility to it, but so that it is not on the sunny side. So, it will last you longer, and in case of repair or maintenance, it will be easy to fix the problem.

The heat pump can be placed in different ways, depending on the layout of the house and the professional opinion of the heat pump installation specialist. The only thing that is important to consider is that the components are placed in accessible and well-ventilated places for their good performance.
