What Kind of Visa Do You Need for the UK?
Dating is one thing, but marriage is quite another. There are a lot of problems with it, and if you have a serious relationship with an Englishman, you need to understand where to move on.
The Marriage visa for UK is available for those who want to marry a British citizen in the United Kingdom. The entry permit is given for a period of 6 months. The opportunity to apply for such a visa is also available for same-sex partners.
Criteria for applying for a Marriage visa
- You know your partner personally and both have reached the age of majority.
- The inviting party has British citizenship or is legally staying in the country for permanent residence.
- Both parties are not married to anyone else.
- The receiving party must receive an official income in England and be able to support themselves and the foreign bride/groom.
- The recipient of the visa to the UK has passed a medical examination and is in good health.
- It is mandatory to check the absence of criminal records and knowledge of the English language (at the A1 level).
There are not many requirements, but not everyone can comply with them.
What is a wife’s visa?
This is also a UK family visa, only for people who are officially married. This English visa is in great demand among recently married couples, as it gives legal grounds to work and study in the UK without any restrictions. To apply for this visa, you must meet the following:
- Have a spouse who has a valid passport of a British citizen or permanent residence.
- Both partners have reached the age of majority (18 years old).
- Marriage can be recognized as legal in the UK.
- You are not in a fictitious relationship. This can be proved with the help of wedding photos, pictures from a shared vacation, attach correspondence for several years, and so on.
- You know English at least at A1 level.
- You are serious and want to start a life together in England after entering the country.
Note also that spouses should have a sufficient level of income or savings available to them so that both can support themselves without applying for subsidies from the state.
